We need help to re-open the range for 2021
Hey folks! The outdoor range is still closed, so we’re going to have a work detail out there on Saturday April 24th. The range will be reopened after work has been completed to repair winter and vehicle damage.
Itasca Gun Club’s membership form (http://itascagunclub.org/page-1862975) asks members to either provide 5 hours per year of volunteer time, or pay $25 per year in lieu of service. These work details are an easy opportunity to invest some time into your club and your ranges.
The day will begin at 9 AM, and will continue until the range is in shape to reopen. If there’s a lot of people there to help, sometimes we finish by noon. But if we run out of time or don’t have enough volunteers, the range will remain closed until we can set up another work day. This is important work. Volunteers like you are our only option to repair damage and perform maintenance on the roadway, parking areas, driving areas, the range surface, berms, buildings, targets and backer boards. Your work helps keep our club functioning and provides a safe and pleasant experience to all our members.
The type of work to be done includes target repair (replacing 2x4’s, attaching new backer boards), pothole filling from a trailer filled with gravel, repairing vehicle rutting, general erosion repair and various other chores that any range needs for maintenance and improvement.
Tools needed include battery drills, hammers, battery saws, shovels, gravel-capable rakes.
Please come out on this spring day and help us get the range open again. The forecast is partly to mostly sunny based on which web site you use, with temps in the low forties.
