On Saturday August 31, we will be holding a follow up class for those who have taken one of our Metallic Cartridge Reloading classes.
You are invited to the clubhouse from 9-5 for a question/answer session. Reloading is a complex process, and even though we did an eight-hour class, it was mostly on basic reloading and safety. It’s not enough time to learn all the finer details of the reloading activity. We have gotten many questions on certain tools and techniques that time did not allow us to cover in the initial training. For those of you that traveled a long distance for the class, send a list of questions even if it involves set up of dies, etc.
The goal is to see where you are in reloading and provide guidance to make the process a bit faster, repeatable and see what tools and information you need for your needs. This is a casual session, no structure, just show up and we will do our best to see that you get the information needed. No specific sessions or times are set, just between 9 – 5. If you only have a couple of hours, bring a notepad and one of us can help you out. Bring lunch or snacks if you plan to spend the whole day learning.
This is not a “students only” get together. If you know someone that has an interest in reloading, bring them along. If you’re thinking about taking one of our classes, this is a good session to get a feel for what reloading is like.
We will not be assembling any ammunition, but the equipment the instructors use on their own benches will be on hand, so you see how we load on single stage presses, hardware tips and tricks.
Please note that there’s a road closure to the west of the indoor and outdoor ranges. You can find access maps and information at www.itascagunclub.org
As we said repeatedly in the class, referring to the manufacturer's instructions is the safest method to avoid problems. RCBS has both a great introduction to handloading, and a very good discussion of how to set up dies as you move through the reloading process. The dies document is a PDF file, and you need to zoom and pan to read it. With ANY Windows application, if you hold the Control (ctrl) key down and roll the mouse wheel, you can zoom in and out.

Then in a fit of organizing, I snipped out the dozen columns and assembled then into a Word Doc to make life easier.
